National 5:

National 5 Health and Food Technology
Scheme of work

The National 5 Health and Food Technology course consists of three unit of work that pupils have to success complete and pass in order to be presented at National 5 level.

The three units consist of:
* Food for Health
* Food Product Development
* Contemporary Food Issues
You can find resources for each of these units, within our study guide tab.

If your child is sitting National 5 in the course, they will be awarded a National Grade from completing an assignment and external exam.

                                Both of these aspects are worth 50% each

Your child will be given the opportunity to sit an Added Value Unit (AVU) to ensure that they achieve a National 4 in the subject.
Although majority of the work is completed in class, pupils will have to ensure that they complete homework on time, and may have to complete parts of their assignment at home.
We will give pupils as much notes as possible, however we strongly advise that pupils get themselves some appropriate study guides to help with exam revision.

All of the above can be bought from local book stores that sell study guides or off the internet.
    ** Supported study drop in sessions are offered on Monday lunchtimes**
