Enterprise in Education

As part of our provision for young people preparing for adult life, the school has a comprehensive enterprise programme organised by members of staff and coordinated by a Depute Head Teacher. This programme operates throughout all year groups. In S1 and S2, pupils take part in enterprising activities and events, enjoying careers education, a Rights Respecting morning and an S2 “Sons and Daughters to Work” Day. S3 pupils choose three short courses in the academic year which develop skills and knowledge relating to the world of work.Pupils participating in Careers day

S4 pupils are encouraged to take part in a week of work experience as well as being invited to take part in mock interviews and a Careers Consultancy Evening.

Senior pupils are also invited to take advantage of mock interviews and business education programmes. Pupils can also elect to be involved in Young Enterprise and the Design and Innovation Awards.

There are many other enterprising ventures organised throughout the year. Many of these take place in curricular areas and involve visits to places of interest, challenges and projects that allow pupils to develop enterprising attitudes and skills.
