Higher Qualifications

The Highers are the main element of the upper school course. They are the usual qualifications for entry to Higher Education. They normally follow on from a pass at National 5. Higher courses demand hard work, motivation and a very high level of commitment.

It has been our experience that the majority of pupils who obtained a A or B at National 5 passed the Higher. Success at Higher from a C at National 5 does happen each year but only for a small and very hard-working minority of those who attempt it.

Pupils who achieve National 5 passes at A or B in five or more subjects, and attend regularly, study consistently and work hard from the beginning of the Higher course are quite capable of passing 5 Highers, and often do.
